. . . and Growing. This year marks our 20th anniversary at TLD. For two decades, TLD has been providing IT products, service and solutions to our customers, supporting them through the ever-changing landscape of technology. Twenty years is a generation of children reaching adulthood, but in the context of technology, it is the life span of many generations of hardware and software. Over the past two decades, the changes, innovations and development in information technology has been unprecedented. In 1981, the Vic 20 was big news. As the first computer to sell more than a million units, it targeted computer hobbyists. Early techies marveled at the capacity of this unit which ran on 5K RAM and 16K of ROM. With a data storage cassette that took over an hour to load even very small programs, this unit was considered groundbreaking. Two years later, the Commodore 64 was the most popular home computer. Considered a watershed machine, it offered 64K of RAM. Around the same time, the Apple IIe was released and was widely used in businesses, homes and schools. Twenty years ago, TLD was in the vanguard of IT development in British Columbia, where we have remained, as leaders in the industry these past twenty years. A critical component of our success has been the unprecedented network available to us through our parent company London Drugs. Through this relationship, TLD is structured to provide our customers support throughout Western Canada. With our roots planted firmly in the beginnings of mainstream computing technology, TLD has demonstrated that twenty years of experience in the industry is a competitive advantage. We have grown with the technology and adapted as it changed. In a time when long standing IT firms are becoming dinosaurs, our longevity is something of which to be distinctly proud. For us, twenty years means that we have steadily built the infrastructure and expertise critical to product support and service excellence. Moreover, our history in the IT industry means that we have integrated our hard earned experience and have engineered a corporate resiliency that allows us to adapt every time the technology changes and the needs of customers' needs shift. Our unique mix of manufacturing ability, IT solutions skills and buying power has contributed to our longevity in the market and ensured that we continue to provide our customers with the continuity of service they have come to expect. Our offices TLD Richmond is located within the head offices of London Drugs in Richmond, B.C. We occupy over 8,500 square feet, housing sales, professional services, technical, administrative and staging staff. Additional facilities include a 1,700 square foot warehousing, pre-configuration, and burn-in and test facility located at the London Drugs Distribution Service Centre next door to the Head Offices. TLD Victoria opened August 1995, expanding our services to additional clients within B.C. This branch includes sales, a Professional Services Group, Technical Support, and warehouse facilities. Designed to better service our Provincial Government clients and area businesses, we're in an excellent position to leverage the delivery and pre-configuration abilities of our Richmond office, while providing a high level of local support and local product stocking in Victoria. TLD Calgary opened in May 2000, expanding our market into Alberta for the first time. Our Calgary branch has developed strong relationships with local businesses and proves to be a beneficial contributor to the local economy. Calgary offers full sales, a Professional Services Group and highly skilled Technical Support Department along with warehouse facilities. |
